Владимир СкунцевThe first three songs (The Ryazan area) are sung during New Year's detour of court yard.
The word Авсень is single-root with Latvian Usiтр (a spring deity, the patron of horse breeding), aust (to blossom) and Sanskrit Ушас (The goddess of a morning dawn of New Year).
Song «Благослови, Христос, пришла Коляда! Виноградие красно-зелёное» (4) is sung in time of Christmas calols in the Christmas Eve, it is written down in Balvsky Area of Latvia. (5,6) — Christmas dances in a ring (Novosibirsk area).

Among pairy-tales (7,8. Vologodsky area) is very interesting the second song. On archaic conceptions if you want to frighten off Death from a cradle of the baby, it is enough to inform her, that the baby has already died. Certainly, most convincingly it was possible to make by language of songs.

Songs of Pancake week (week before Lent, seven weeks before Easter) (9) — is sung during shows of young peasant woman — song of farewell with Pancake week (Pskov area) (10) — a song of Pancake week which is sung in Briansk area. For it, as well as for Kupala song from the same places (19), it is characteristic so called «гук». Songs where «гук» present, has the name of «гукальные», and consider, that they represent very ancient layers of musical folklore.
«Жавороночки» (13) — Summons of spring by peasants in Penza area. Spring arrives on wing of birds and to speed it's arrival, it was necessary to call for skylarks, sandpipers and etc. «То-то, байня» (14) — Country dancing song. The text of this song is interesting, because in it the birth of the baby is described and in the bath-house. As it known, the bath-house from the earliest time was considered as a sacred place — there we can see all four elements — fire, water, the ground (stone) and air. Completeness and the sufficiency existing in such place facilitates birth of the baby in the world.

Father Egory (15) — a song oh the day sacred Egory, the patron of cattle breeding. The song is sung during the first pasture of cattle for its protection against wild animals. Spring wheat songs (16,17) are written down in Vitebsk area near by to Latvian borders and performed during survey of winter shoots in the period between the Easter and the Trinity. The purpose of their performance — to cause a rain, which is necessary for growth of corns. Stubbled-field songs are written down (22, 23) in Ludza and Kraslava areas and included into repertoir of local Byelorussians. Special interest is represented with the wedding ceremonial song (25 — 32), which have been written down in Balvsky and Aluksnensky areas from Russian orthodox inhabitants. Skuchania and Goloshenia — musical forms which are characteristic for the part of wedding ceremony. «Ой, Боже, благослови» (27) — under this song the bride was brought to the table in the morning before arrival of the groom. Under «Байничек» (28) — the bride was presented, under, under «Ой, спасибо, батюшка» (29) the bride was removed off a table. If the friend of the groom has not stinted at the repayment of the bride, he was glorified. With song «Грымнул гром» (31) the groom and the bride are lead to the altar. «Ура!» (32) — praised song to the groom and the buide after going to the altar. Lingering lyrical song are represented by Ural (Sverdlovska area) song (12, 20) and by tradicional songs of the South of Altay (33).
The most younger perfomer of songs of this collection — Nastya Olenkina. She is only 5 years old. The older performer is the doubtless leader of group — Natasha Svjatskay — 17 years.
